Nothing inspires me as much as fog – a very special kind of weather that brings back faded memories, the feeling of nostalgia, loneliness and melancholy. Also, it is such pleasure to compose a frame when all the unwanted details are hidden behind thick pale sheet.
In a recent interview for Crosswalks Magazine I've been asked by the guys about my definition of passion. I said it's something that gets you up at 5.30am on your day off in a hope to get a little bit of that morning light and the atmosphere that you can get only during those early hours.
I think I have been sticking to one set of cameras and one set of film for way too long. Why not to try something else just for the sake of experiment? Sometimes I have days when I encourage myself to change my gear, but when the next gig comes along I prefer working with tools I got used to. So, all technical elements remain the same and the only thing that changes is the subject in front of your lens.
I was very lucky (and quick) with organising this shoot with Tallulah from Profile Models. We have managed to get a bit of this Summer atmosphere in Regents Park – it was about +30C in the late afternoon, and it felt like Greece or Spain.
We did this shoot with Alice Viner some ago. I have posted bits from the session across my social media accounts, but never had a chance to show it as a whole. Now I guess the time has come to fill this gap.
This was a test shoot for a modelling agency, but I'm not a big fan of aggressive edgy looks, so my tests quite often look like portrait sessions. Developed and scanned by Carmencita Film Lab
To be honest, sometimes I really struggle when I need to define a concept for my next personal shoot or set a straight direction where a project needs to go to. My favourite gigs are the ones with an approximate direction, when you vibe with a model you are working with, and when you both leave plenty of space for experiments. That's kind of shoot we had with Lucy Chappell.
